Israel's War On Iran: Is It Justified?
Juliette Binoche on the Cannes 20205 winner Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just an Accident:
The film springs from a feeling of resistance, survival, which is absolutely necessary today. It's very human and political at the same time, because he comes from a complicated country. When we watched the film, it stood out.
Could Iran, with all its conflictions, prove a “better angel” utterly surprising the United States as an equal not a loser at the table? President Trump’s human rights record’s not exactly inspiring anyone at all anywhere at the moment. No comparison, simply statement of fact. Nor Israel. A sad song feels a’comin’ but have no idea where from.
Oh, Iran: please remember that American forces/folk on military bases are just like your folk. ummm.. wondering about supreme leaders. Only they have more fun and alcohol! At least after Supreme Leader Conan paid a visit with First Lady Obama. Not sure America could be convinced human concept such regards your people. Don’t really pray but holding a glass for you:) Respect.
With all the terrible, terrible things happening in the world: what, pray tell was ever the point of this massacre??!!
[When figures in a death toll become human.]
Desperately we need a love fest. A thought fest. All drink to that [and if Mr. Sondheim were still with us, sure he’d be saying on that stage: “Never thought I’d be adding a new character to one of my musicals…” Way more complex than may first appear. Could AI write that song? Moving into a brave, new, very very scary world.
Je suis un chat du vent et vous sables
Constantly fascinating how French language songs have always lyrics at the helm. Some great tunes along the way but…many ‘American’ exceptions in that flow, Alicia we know who you are..:) Alanis, and all and all way back to Joni and beyond. Ya’ all know! The struggle to believe. Interesting huh? How does one sail the dastardly ship of truth through American waters? The French wear beau ‘angst’ upon sleeve; Americans blatantly monetize. Vive la difference! =
Irony of all ironies for July 4th: Jacques Revaux’s 1987 ballad Comme d'habitude was acquired by Paul Anka for $1 ‘adoption’ rights reserved.
Pas déjà vu chat. Bonjour, Susu: KITTY.
Perhaps the only reality for some are the movies as real life, is it just nowadays, just too painful a watch. Black Mirror [S7-Hotel Reverie]. Charlie Brooker writing as brilliantly when back in 2014.
