Back in 1981, as a baby actor (young is still so relative), there was a film Eye of the Needle. This guy on screen Donald Sutherland transfixed me. Then Don’t Look Now opened up the world of Nicholas Roeg. What a joy to see him in close-up again in HBO’s The Undoing. The series hasn’t had great reviews and alas, though never boring, there is something lacking. Certainly not in the performances all round that director Susanne Bier has obviously thought much about. Engrossing cinematography. Plot is just a bit thin for so many episodes. I get why we know so little of the dead protagonist, but, but. But hey: that ‘who’s that’ guy I first saw in Polanski’s Bitter Moon, Hugh Grant. Nicole Kidman. Not a false note in the cast. So definitely worth one’s time if you’re into analyzing screen acting. And figuring out how to write a limited series.

Was going to upload this before then realized it was Yom Kippur! So meow, be prepared for a mouthwatering video. (oh, and buy the book , preferably from an independent bookstore). Loads of great Zoom interviews from Greenlight Bookstore. Howsabout a Creature Cookbook, preferably with none in the recipes. No pressure Mina! It’s a ‘dog eat dog’ world we know. Just not in my head.
