So, why Juliano Nunes? Of course you’re being used Meow Chal:)! But for good cause…:) Immediately drawn to bodies their slow discrete magnetic centrifugal force. Juliano spoke of cosmic something in an interview after we’d all already felt it. Palpable. How does he do that!? Ellen Burstyn reading poetry the other day on TV. I remember her at The Actors Studio once many moons as moderator to actors and their scenes. She asked: what did you see? Some members said they felt..she abruptly interrupted: NO! What did you see? She interrupted again! Dance is an art form even more unforgiving than acting. If you don’t see it, hear it, you sure ain’t feelin’ it!

Political satire. Speaks for itself, doesn’t? We like Jimmy Kimmel. Maybe not as much as Seth and Stephen and other Jimmy and Late night Furr-Ball. But: why roast Melania? She’s doing such a great job as First Lady. What doth demand of her: clinging to the prow of a ship in the Straits of Hormuz and singing “my heart will go on..”!! Give the gal a break! Utterly committed to her role. Never ‘coasting’. And her documentary wasn’t that THAT bad at all! If you’re a bit desperate one evening for something keep awake glide gently into that good night with no scary dreams. And so smart was Melania to use a great cinematographer and director. One must credit where due!
Kinda unfortunate that the ABAA New York International Antiquarian Book Fair (NYIABF) has antiquarian in the title, connotations of ancient times and fustiness. The latter, of course, something every book dealer dreads in actuality! The Vibrant Paper and Things Fair probably wouldn’t go down so well with some members. But that’s exactly what it is! Not sure what happens when you mix both before bedtime. Sure beats holistic Valerian or so so more terrible options.
Where are we going on this voyage? Desert Island Discs so great and educational and yours truly never to be asked as surely nothing much has ever happened in 25years;) But it has. But/And: if what does! I would have to have x3 DID programs : Classical/ Jazz, Nick Drake, Billie Eilish etc stuff/ and BROADWAY. Nothing selfish just true sharing.
So here’s a Broadway selection that never will ever date. Sadness and hope so exqusitely expressed in music.
AND: Marin Mazzie surely the only singer thus far to carry Liza Minnelli’s ‘baby’ angst into ’swadling’ now. Ask her yourself! She’s still here! Hearing Liza live sing this utterly irreplaceable. So anything and everything flowing always echoing. Be young and free. Once in a lifetime.
Wanna just mention, Broadway will get this, the FX limited series Dying for Sex. Michelle Williams/Jenny Slate so sad/sappy/superb/savvy/super script. Never got attention truly deserved. Did G/god invent streaming ‘cause so damn boring was it all? Humans/animals/everything quickly or eventually dies. Know! There! Except for comedy. The mortal coil. Are we the only planet in the solar system so behind? A coil?!! No wonder aliens laugh and leave well alone. Except as statistics. Nuts! [they love Barbara Streisand, hearsay].
Women are allowed conversation with their ‘rabbit’. So why not men with their ‘Elephant in the room’? A major study found that men who reported ejaculating at least 21 times per month had a 20% lower chance of developing prostate cancer compared to those with fewer ejaculations. So: G/god if it were a more doable 10 times per month, even that’s a bit….so that’s 10% less. Helas! What a joke! So 1%, gonna die! Not wanting gild the gilly on our goldfish, but this ‘Elephant’ song suddenly takes on entirely new production ideas in such context. Most surely, John Kander’s ‘Elephant’ alive and well, if a little shy for visitors..;)
