closer...maybe...

I have nothing against opinions. The strangest thing is when some folk call me 'opinionated'.  I feel that I may offer options of thought. The BBC headlines the other day were a triple if not quadruple whammy: devastating mudslides in Montecito (my black walnut trees knew shit was on the way somewhere and starting shedding crop in like mid Summer! I did warn you all on Instagram. )

A teenage kid who'd done a high profile commercial campaign committed suicide in Australia. THAT should never happen. Yet it happens and happens and happens!  THAT is where government should step in to do something. I know it is so so very complicated. But so is everything in life.

French actress icon Catherine Deneuve put herself 'on the line' this week as the key signatory to an open letter re all the recent sexual harassment allegations. I have worked with Ms. Deneuve. She is a phenomenal actress and I would listen to every word she has to say. About anything! Because: she is normally so quiet as a mouse and would never put her name to anything that she didn't believe in.

Ms. Deneuve has supported women throughout her career. And can you imagine what it must have been like to be Deneuve the French icon in the 60's and 70's! Like she does not know what is female empowerment!

France is indeed a different country. There a mistress to a wife is de rigueur. I am not condoning such but such is France. In Britain or America disclosure of such is your career gone.

I haven't changed my stance in this issue since the week… What is fascinating about America is that you can flip flop as much as you want in any given discipline and be forgiven so long as you make MONEY. Such is MISTRESS.

I'll be hated for writing this but it is the truth.

btw NYT- you cancelled The Disaster Artist event this week following James Franco sexual allegations. As one of the world's leading newspapers isn't it journo lesson 1: 3 sources a must then and only then publish? A little worrying to…..btw: the Meryl Streep movie The Post is about a guy who clearly broke the law. Amazing Mr. Daniel Ellsberg. But: is Ms.Streep extolling the virtues of a guy who broke the law?

Harvard Law School discuss…

u all know where i'm a goin' with this……!

So: 2 iguanas walk into a stripjoint....
