CatFish Row

Kitty: Too conservative a cat aren't I? I needs be the Wiz!
Andrew: The Wiz was a very, very long time ago!
Kitty: I should be 'rap-cat'!
Andrew: There is never a 'should', Kitty. [smiles] You remind me in a very unusual way of Glenn Gould.
Kitty: [the look of, that knowledge, must look that up]
Andrew: I know. He was an extraordinary genius pianist. Hummed like you:) Once he played a piano concerto conducted by Leonard Bernstein…
Kitty: [interrupting] West Side Story!
Andrew: Ah hum [correct]. And Maestro Bernstein announced in front of the audience that although he didn't agree with Mr. Gould's interpretation, he agreed that he was such a great pianist, he must conduct the concerto anyway.
Kitty: hmmmm! [excited]
Andrew: [pause] I just thought, you would love Gould's radio soundscapes. I'll find them. Did you like Liza with a Z?
Kitty: WOOF! Fosse Cat!
Andrew: Yeah, wasn't she simply phenomenal! 1972. I've never seen that entire performance, only heard the old LP.
Kitty: [another new word] whilst barring her 'Fosse claws'.

Here's a tantalizing look at what the Broadway revival of Company should have been, alas for Covid-19. Hopefully, the sun will shine again. I'm very much of film maker John Waters' opinion that 'you need an attorney to even ask someone out on date', nowadays. My experience, alas. Too Many Mornings…Maybe Bobbie has better luck.
