How many roads must a goose gaggle down...

Andrew muses on nine lives with Kitty.

Speaking of sound and reality, alas, I mention too late the amazing one man (plus his acknowledged audio gurus) show of Simon McBurney Theatre de Complicité The Encounter (they did extend the streaming until thus Monday). Thank you Covid 19, for another great experience we would most probably never had had! There's a documentary, I've not yet seen, on his website. A truly great experience. Thank you Simon.

In a parallel universe was Robert Lepage's extraordinary Met Opera production of La Damnation de Faust. Met Opera on Demand-great deal!

So many amazing streaming opera productions out there…

The Hay Festival is a writers/ideas fest held every May/June in Hay-on-Wye, Powys, Wales since 1988. I had no idea that one could get an annual subscription (that's for every event in every festival ever!) for only £10. Scientists, writers, cooks- anyone who writes and thinks something is welcome to be included. This year's events are free for 24hours after the live stream (though I couldn't get that to work from the U.S.A.) One will never be without friends in the dead of winter! President Bill Clinton in 2001 described the fest as "The Woodstock of the mind".

The London Symphony Orchestra’s Always Playing series features a different full-length concert every Sunday and Thursday. On May 28 (the stream seems available for those 3 days), Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater and Brahms’ German Requiem conducted by Valery Gergiev. That sounds unmissable.

Kitty has been sobbing whilst watching   A Streetcar Named Desire.
Kitty: I'm not like Blanche am I?
Andrew: No, no, no. You're very 'real'.
Kitty: Blanche was real..?..Wish I could be more a real cat..
Andrew: You are real to me that is what really matters. [pause] You know, Tennessee saved our life! [Kitty looks excited and surprised] If I hadn't sold his photo we wouldn't have a house anymore. [Kitty is thinking. Then remembers.]
Kitty: That was the photo above my shoebox. [Andrew smiles] [pause] He was a very, very handsome cat!
Andrew: He will always be, Tennessee.
