here's to those furry creatures who lunch…

Very, very funny hour every Friday with Julie Halston, Virtual Halston (most recently Broadway's Tootsie). If this doesn't make you smile nothing will:) I don't sing or dance..I don't know if they're high when they cast me..
come have cat-coffee sometime-we can do laundry together;, funny local anecdotes Lilli Cooper

A great double-play to Chita Rivera's 2013 livestream tonight (recorded live 2013)

A little tough, though, on the town that educated you, Ms Lilli? Challenges, indeed yes, but surely beats bumping into a wannabe Streisand, Pacino or Tom Cruise on every street corner?! Can't remember what city that could possibly be too many mornings ago…') Not to mention the NYC squirrels that eye up one's 'balls' to cut off and experiment in ye nether reaches of Central Park …too many mornings….You must be invisible to them:)

Kitty: Meaow! Chita's a cat!
[Andrew smiles]
She makes it all look so simple. [Andrew hangs on her next thoughts}
Fosse cat!…Could Kitty be on Broadway?
Andrew: You'd have to audition with everyone else.
Kitty: But they'd never cast a cat! With humans!
Andrew: Well, you just have to find the right people who believe in you.
Kitty: Hmmm…[she does a little dance whilst singing down the stairs]:
You can like the life you're living
You can live the life you like
You can even marry Harry
But mess around with Ike
And that's
Good, isn't it?

Andrew: [Kitty sings the music and lyrics perfectly] Did you just learn that? !
Kity: [non-pussed] Guess so…
In fifty years or so
It's gonna change, you know
….
[she bounces on down the stairs]

While we're on the subject of Roxie and Velma, San Francisco Opera streams Donizetti’s Lucrezia Borgia starring Renée Fleming (2011 production) from 1pm (Eastern) Saturday May 30 until 11:59pm Pacific tonight, may 31. There a new opera every weekend.

A mournful bitter-sweet elegy for the American suburban dream streams until June1 in Opera North's production of Leonard Bernstein's first opera (music and libretto) from 1952 (1h long) Trouble in Tahiti. Five years later he would write West Side Story. Exquisite, plaintive melodies. Wonderful cast, particularly the diction and vocal placement of ‪Canadian mezzo-soprano‬ ‪Wallis Giunta‬. Great set design by Charles Edwards-(hello): lot of water under that bridge. Not to be missed. Opera North is one of the U.K.'s renowned opera companies. Further north is Scottish Opera whose Anthropocene is streaming.
