Danny Lyon: Message to the Future
Lyon was not only prolific but fascinated in documenting‘real life’ in America from prisons to the demolishing of buildings to make way for the World Trade Center.

Staley Wise have wondrous photos of Greta Garbo (she kept them in boxes) so they look like new. George Hurrell is a familiar name but the surprise is Ruth Harriet Louise, the daughter of a rabbi, who at 22 became the first woman photographer active in Hollywood as MGM's chief portrait photographer. Her career lasted only five years. The William Helburn show has been extended- wonderfully smart zany advertising pics.

The Met Museum launches a new book.....Met Museum director Thomas P. Campbell (secretly, he he ;) wishes it was a second book on tapestries... and who would negate/deny that:)
